Youth Social Policy Case Competition

The Brown Citizen Circle (BCC) will be hosting a BIPOC Youth Social Policy Case Competition (BCC: Bridging the GAP) at the end of August that is targeted towards inspiring all BIPOC youth (placing an emphasis on Black, Indigenous, and South Asian youth in particular) to participate equally in spheres of influence and decision-making.

The topic of our case competition is analyzing COVID-19 response management and the impacts of racialization. We aim to provide youth with the opportunity to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We will be grounding our case competition in three sub-topics/SDGs to lead youth engagement. These are as follows:

Sub-topic #1, Environmental Justice which is related to SDG 13 (climate action).

Sub-topic #2, Racialization and Healthcare which is related to SDG 3 (good health and well-being).

Sub-topic #3, Equitable Organizations, which is related to SDG 10 (reducing inequalities).

By emphasizing a multitude of diverse issues and voices, we hope BIPOC youth will be inspired to utilize their voices as true catalysts for change!
